"A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbol means nothing to him. A waterlogged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their colour or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn't care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his." (From the movie Marley and Me)

In spite of all these lovely characteristics, there are scores of dogs wandering in the streets, starving and in a bad health condition. We can often hear opinions about possible ways to solve this problem, but unfortunately there is less news that reports about specific actions taken in this respect.
The Benji Animal Rescue and Animal Protection Organization aims to offer a solution to this problem, in Targu Secuiesc and its surroundings.
The idea of founding the Benji Dog Shelter comes from the members of the Szekler Dog's Club and several other enthusiastic animal lovers.

The aims of the organization:
-         To provide a temporary home for homeless dogs
-        Organization of adoption programs
-         Veterinary care of the hosted animals and their preparation for adoption
-         Sterilizing the dog population, by this preventing superfluous procreation
-         Offering favourable services to townspeople, concerning pet - keeping
-         Education of the resident population for responsible animal - keeping
-     Controlling inhumane treatment and cruelty to animals (dogs, cats, horses etc), with the help of the authorities.

The territory for the dog shelter will be provided by the Mayor's Office in Târgu Secuiesc, an oral agreement having been made so far. The 15000 m2 area, which lies next to the IFET site, would host this establishment. (the location behind the proposed industrial park)
For the sake of this noble cause we have asked help from several contractors and private individuals and got substantial assurance.
However we need all the help and support we could get! If you feel affinity to participate in saving homeless animals, we kindly welcome you to our organization.
A great amount of work is waiting for us, until we attain that are no longer hungry, sick animals roaming in the streets.
